Editorial Recruitment Policy and Responsibilities
Purpose
Community Dynamics: An International and Interdisciplinary Journal (CDIIJ) is committed to maintaining an Editorial Board composed of distinguished scholars and professionals from diverse disciplines and regions. Editorial appointments are based on academic merit, research expertise, editorial experience, professional integrity, and a commitment to ethical, high-quality scholarly publishing. The Editorial Board provides academic leadership, oversees the peer-review process, supports the Journal's development, and promotes its international visibility and reputation.
Editorial Responsibilities
Editor-in-Chief
The Editor-in-Chief provides the overall academic and strategic leadership of the Journal. The role includes defining the Journal's vision, scope, and editorial policies; ensuring the quality, integrity, and independence of the editorial process; making final publication decisions; supervising the editorial team; promoting the Journal internationally; and ensuring compliance with publication ethics and best publishing practices.
Deputy Editor
The Deputy Editor assists the Editor-in-Chief in the day-to-day editorial management of the Journal. Responsibilities include coordinating manuscript processing, overseeing peer review, supporting editorial decisions, resolving editorial matters, ensuring adherence to ethical standards, assisting with the recruitment and coordination of editors and reviewers, contributing to journal development initiatives, and acting on behalf of the Editor-in-Chief when delegated.
Associate Editors
Associate Editors manage manuscripts within their areas of expertise from initial assessment through peer review. They select appropriate reviewers, evaluate reviewer reports, provide recommendations on publication decisions, ensure compliance with editorial policies and ethical standards, and contribute to the Journal's academic development and international outreach.
Editorial Board Members
Editorial Board members serve as academic advisors and ambassadors for the Journal. They are expected to undertake peer review when requested, recommend qualified reviewers, advise on editorial policies and emerging research directions, support Special Issues where appropriate, promote the Journal within their professional networks, encourage the submission of high-quality manuscripts, and uphold the principles of confidentiality, impartiality, editorial independence, and publication ethics.
Editorial Recruitment
Editorial Board members are appointed through a transparent, merit-based process designed to ensure broad international and interdisciplinary representation. Prospective members may be identified through their research achievements, editorial or peer-review experience, professional leadership, recommendations from senior editors or board members, or previous contributions to the Journal. Appointments are made by the Editor-in-Chief following an assessment of academic expertise, publication record, research impact, commitment to ethical publishing, and willingness to contribute actively to the Journal.
Appointment and Review
Editorial appointments are honorary, voluntary, and unpaid unless otherwise specified. New members receive a formal invitation outlining their responsibilities and the Journal's editorial policies. The composition of the Editorial Board is reviewed periodically to ensure continued engagement, disciplinary balance, international diversity, and alignment with the Journal's strategic objectives.
